MJ has never looked so GOOD!

If Imitation is the highest form of flattery, I think MJ might just blush a little on Saturday night. Mitch and Elvira threw a house party to celebrate their birthdays last Saturday. Like any good party there has to have a extraordinary silly theme, this one happened to be Michael Jackson or anything that might be related the the legendary MJ.

Lost Valentinos back in 77

Club 77 is such a dodgy club but it is oh so good.
I went to see the boys down when they were sound checking, it was pretty full on.... I had no idea it took so much work to get the sound right based on the set up of a club. It was a pretty amazing process, after a few minor changes with the PA... everything went ahead as planned and the show was amazing and I for once did not miss their show!




After seeing the Lost Valentinos, I went to Nina's farewell at GOOD GOD. I was pretty hazy by then, it was a good ol' fun time from what I can remember from the photos.

Shepard x Obama = street art love

I have always liked the Obey Artwork since I was a grom with a skateboard.
Later I learnt more about the man behind the giant face of Obey, his name is Shepard Fairey and he was also the man getting a load of press action from his contribution to the Obama campaign. Sunday I chilled

It has been a super long weekend.
When Sunday came...I decided to have a quiet chilled day.
I started off with checking out some books at Ariel & Berkelouw then went to the ACP to see the Pedro Meyer and Nikon-Walkley Press Photo exhibition.

I had made plans to hang out with the Jezabels in the afternoon, since I haven't seen them in ages.
They were showing me their mock up for their debut EP, the artwork looks great. I am excited to see it to be released.
I took some photos before they played a show at the Annandale that evening.

A Hazy start to my November

It was probably not the wisest idea to be out after Halloween. But it was No Answer on the 1st of November, it felt kind of special to party on the first day of the month..... although it makes no real sense, I still felt compelled enough to go and have another dance.
FYI. No Answer is loads of fun. It has never failed me for a good time yet.
Oh it was also Chloe's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHLOE!!!

DAMMIT

Once upon a time. When I was a lil grom.... I went over to LA with my moms, where I was a massive sneaker head....purely for the love of sports not really about styles and such.

Mom had picked out these Reebok blacktops (they were ridiculously cheap at the time I believe), the kicks were always too big for me and it still baffles me how elders can justified getting clothes/shoes that is way too big for you as a kid and you will somehow grow into it (...in time they say). The sneakers have been with me for almost as long as I have been in Oz (13years)... I have never worn them, I didn't really like the look of them and the color was not what I would normally pull off - grey sneakers.... are a tad tricky.

So last year I rediscover them in my wardrobe, where they were sitting lonely in the corner, I picked up some paint brushes and painted sections of the shoe white, but I abandoned the project shortly when I started doing some canvases and boards for friends' birthdays. Yes I have a very short attention span sometimes.... I finally repainted the shoe last week, eager to finally wear them because they fit snugly now. I added a layer of black over the previously white sections and I found some fat red laces that I bought in HK, I chucked them on the now blackish shoe, the red was a bit strong so I added dashes of black on the lace to soften them up a bit.

The new blacktops were looking pretty neat and I think I'd be proud to rock them. I wore them for about 2 hours before the left shoe decided to degenerate on me..... I was soooooo BUMMED, because now I am shoeless and I was about to head out for dinner and party with some mates, so a drive home later - I decided from now on, I will always travel with 2 pairs of kicks just for back up purposes... at least thats what my girl friends say they do all the time. Oh how I am always in awe of females' logic for good reason.

A Halloween by Duke Mag

Friday was really insane, my body was thoroughly exhausted after the weekend naturally.

It seems like anyone and everyone wanted to have a party in the spirit of Halloween, I ended up at 4 parties on Friday and most of my friends slept till late Saturday evening before venturing out once again. Halloween is a bit of a strange concept since it is the one time in a year where you can look totally skanky or plain ridiculous and not get criticised because it is Halloween after all.

Duke Mag had organized a serial killers theme for their Halloween party at Louie’s, it is a small warehouse garage like space. It is a perfect and often home to many indie psychedelic band shows. With an expectedly massive turn out (Thanks to Facebook events and people telling their friends), Louie’s seem to be rather tiny for the event, so the fancy dressers had to flow onto the rest of Murray st to get their drink and silly mood on for the rest of the night.
